The Increase of Ocean Acidification is Devastating

Water and Oceans are becoming greater acidic, which might get into our water supply. This is horrific.

Ocean Acidity increased as the pH level dropped 0.1 units (30% extend in acidity), making the water unsuitable for sea creatures and organisms to live a peaceful, healthy lifestyle. Thus, this can lead to a limit in our food chain.


Marine animals affected consist of corals, clams, oysters, shellfish, plankton, crab, and more. Corals are among the most affected the fastest. Even the shells of some marine animals are dissolving now. Marine animals may become extinct in the future, unless they adapt to survive in their changing habitat.




The substantial amount of Carbon Dioxide has contaminated our water and made our pH stage drop, therefore, acidifying our ocean. Fish and other sea animals are going to be unprotected and suffer consequences as a result.




As ongoing efforts to initiate ocean acidification around the world have just begun, how the impact of ocean acidification along the marine food web is now diminishing along with the overall marine ecosystem.


Eventually, water will become poor quality and our sources of seafood will decrease.


The good news is, we can reduce ocean acidification by growing vegetation in water, such as kelp.

We also may need to clean the water and make sure the seawater pipes are replaced every now and then.


The EPA is attempting to decrease marine corruption in numerous ways. For instance, they are currently operating with NOAA, State, U.S. Coast Guard, and different countries to assist the IMO with fostering a procedure intended to deal with production and shipment of plastic that turns into marine litter. EPA moreover works with the United Nations Caribbean Environment Program located in Jamaica, zeroed in on diminishing sources of marine contamination based on land, such as for the Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean locale.
